With my wedding schedule, I don’t get to photograph a lot of families, but I was able to fit in the Bakers last November, just before we lost all fall color in Michigan. We met at a Royal Oak park where the oaks were just all yellow and orange…so perfect for a fall session…and also got to use Red Run Golf Course for a few shots. We ended the session on their porch; did I mention we just walked to all of these locations? I love meeting new people locally and photographing close to my home in Clawson, Michigan.
After quite a bit of experience with small children, I’ve decided the almost one year olds are pretty darn great to photograph. Rowan was a perfect subject and willing to laugh at Mom and Dad as much as possible. She is just ADORABLE, don’t you agree?
For my family sessions, I like to keep things simple, moving, and loose. I always try to grab a few of everyone looking at the camera, but when there’s kids, I really like to use play and prompts if I can. What better way to get a baby giggling than to swing her around?
